Hello. My name is Robert Young. I am CEO at Montreal Home Inspection Services Inc. Welcome to our Photo Gallery page. I will exhibit the most prevalent and repetitive home inspection defects and deficiencies I run into continually.
Welcome to Montreal Home Inspection Services Photo Gallery. Represented are a series of high definition photos or infrared thermograms taken during a home inspection, condo inspection and investment property inspection on and off the greater islands of Montreal and Laval. These high definition images and infrared thermograms are in direct correlation to the structures, systems and components we come into contract daily during a home, condo, investment property or commercial building inspectio. Narrative will describe what the image represents and may include describing what fault or faults maybe present if defects and deficiencies are not corrected.

Roofing Photos and Explanations
InterNACHI explains; Roofs play an key role in protecting building occupants and interiors from outside weather conditions, primarily moisture. The roof, insulation and ventilation must all work together to keep the building free of moisture. Roofs also provide protection from the sun. In fact, if designed correctly, roof overhangs can protect the building's exterior walls from moisture and sun. The concerns regarding moisture, standing water, durability and appearance are different, reflected in the choices of roofing materials. https://www.nachi.org/roofs.htm
There are two types of roofs: flat and pitched (sloped). Most commercial, industrial and apartment buildings have flat or slightly sloping roofs. Most houses have pitched roofs. Some roofers work on both types; others specialize. Most flat roofs are covered with several layers of materials.
In this Photo Gallery Section, we will introduce to you the different material and how they protect a roof.

Roof coping. Roof Coping refers to, a fabricated sheet metal bent vertically horizontally, placed on the top of lumber, atop masonry or a molded manufactured concrete parapet wall on the roof of a building. Coping widths can range anywhere between 4'-32″. The coping is placed atop the masonry protect wall surfaces below from getting wet. Coping is sloped towards the roof and sheds water inwardly, towards the roof membrane and onto the drainage system.
